Title
A resolution approving a local funding commitment for the Des Allemands Bulkhead - Phase II project.
Body
WHEREAS, the Des Allemands Bulkhead - Phase II project includes the installation of 710 linear feet of steel sheet piles along Bayou Des Allemands between Old US 90 and the BNSF Railroad; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish was awarded a grant from the State of Louisiana’s Capital Outlay Program in the amount of $477,500.00 for the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish was awarded a grant from the State of Louisiana’s FY24/25 Local Government Assistance Program in the amount of $300,000.00 for the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish was awarded a grant from the State of Louisiana’s State General Fund in the amount of $200,000.00 for the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish will be awarded a grant from the State of Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority’s FY26 Gulf of America Energy Security Act (GOAESA) allocation, formerly known as Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA), in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish will be awarded a grant from the State of Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority’s FY23 Gulf of America Energy Security Act (GOAESA) reserve allocation, formerly known as Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act (GOMESA), in the amount of $1,155,392.23 for the project; and,
WHEREAS, the Capital Outlay program requires a funding commitment in the form of a board resolution; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve the local funding commitment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby approve a local funding commitment for the Des Allemands Bulkhead - Phase II project.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote; the vote thereon was as follows:
