Title

An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of Amendment No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Environmental Engineering Services (EES), Inc. for necessary professional engineering services associated with Parish Project No. S150301, St. Rose Sewer and Lift Station Upgrades.

Body

WHEREAS,                     On May 1, 2017 the St. Charles Parish Council approved Ordinance No. 17-5-3 authorizing the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with Environmental Engineering Services (EES), Inc. for Parish Project No. S150301, St. Rose Sewer and Lift Station Upgrades; and,

WHEREAS,                     Preliminary work has discovered that inclusion of improvements to other areas of St. Rose would be greatly beneficial to the project in helping with the elimination of wastewater overflows and backups, and inclusion within the project will yield a savings to the Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     it is necessary to amend the contract and modify the scope in order to allow the inclusion of the additional work.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     SECTION I.                     That the contract for Engineering Services between Environmental Engineering Services (EES), Inc. and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby amended as follows:

Section 2.1.2 (Currently)

Project is to use and update plans created under the Lake Ponchartrain Basin Restoration FY14 year 13 (S150301) project and to include a force main along Almedia Rd (Hwy 50) to alleviate wastewater overflows. This project will then be bid and constructed. Funds from the State Revolving Loan Fund program will be used for this project.

Section 2.1.2 (Revised)

Project is to use and update plans created under the Lake Ponchartrain Basin Restoration FY14 year 13 (S150301) project and to include, but not limited to, the following items:

                     Installation of a force main along Almedia Rd (Hwy 50)

                     Installation of improvements to the Riverview Lift Station

                     Installation of improvements to the Charlestown Lift Station

All work is done to alleviate wastewater overflows and backups to the wastewater system. This project will then be bid and constructed. Funds from the State Revolving Loan Fund program will be used for this project.

                     SECTION II.                     That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Amendment No. 1 on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
