Title
A resolution of the St. Charles Parish Council and Parish President Larry Cochran requesting that the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries identifies as potential recreational projects the proposed Highway 90 Boat Launch (the primary boat launch project) and the proposed Des Allemands Boat Launch (the secondary boat launch project) with funding from any and all possible sources, including but not limited to, NRDA Restoration funding for the Recreational Use Restoration Projects program, funding associated with the Wallop-Breaux amendment to the Sport Fish Restoration Act, and any other possible funding sources.
Body
WHEREAS, outdoor recreation is an important part of living in south Louisiana and plays a critical part in the quality of life and health and welfare of the residents and guests of St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, the west bank of St. Charles Parish is in dire need of adequate public boat launch facilities to access our precious and productive waterways; and,
WHEREAS, these boat launches would be of benefit to the citizens of St. Charles Parish as well as all boaters from neighboring Parishes and others from across the State.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby issue this resolution requesting that the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries identifies as potential recreational projects the proposed Highway 90 Boat Launch (the primary boat launch project) and the proposed Des Allemands Boat Launch (the secondary boat launch project) with funding from any and all possible sources, including but not limited to, NRDA Restoration funding for the Recreational Use Restoration Projects program, funding associated with the Wallop-Breaux amendment to the Sport Fish Restoration Act, and any other possible funding sources.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Governor John Bel Edwards, U. S. Senator William “Bill” Cassidy, U. S. Senator John Kennedy, U. S. Representative Cedric Richmond, U. S. Representative Garret Graves, Senator-2nd District (vacant), Senator Gary L. Smith, Jr., Representative Gregory A. Miller, Representative Randal L. Gaines, Representative Joseph A. “Joe” Stagni, and Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board Member Johnny Bradberry, asking for their support where possible with respect to the construction of these two boat launch facilities.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
