IN   RECOGNITION

WHEREAS,                     Emily Mae Hymel is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Destrehan, Louisiana with her parents Danielle and Edward Hymel and her sister Katie; and,

WHEREAS,                     Emily is currently a Junior at Destrehan High School and plans to graduate in 2015 and attend Louisiana State University to pursue a degree in Kinesiology with the intentions of enrolling in the LSU Physical Therapy School to obtain a PhD in Physical Therapy and plans to one day open her own rehabilitation clinic; and,

WHEREAS,                     Emily is a member of numerous organizations including Beta Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.), Interact Club, Student Government, KOM, the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Youth Group, the Leadership Team, and the Fountain of Youth Ministry Program, was a Beecuz You Matter camp counselor, and Swamp School counselor; and,

WHEREAS,                     Emily enjoys swimming, reading, drawing, pageants, hunting with her dad, and hanging out with friends; and,

WHEREAS,                     Emily was crowned Teen Queen of the St. Charles Parish Relay for Life Pageant held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the John L. Dorsey Multi-Purpose Center in Boutte, Louisiana; and,

WHEREAS,                     Relay for Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity uniting communities to celebrate cancer survivors, remember people who lost their battle to the disease, and honor those still fighting while raising awareness and funds for the fight against cancer.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
