Title
A resolution requesting the Department of Transportation and Development install left turn signals on the north and south bound lanes at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Barton Avenue/Lakewood Drive and the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Queenie Drive (Monsanto Plant)/Oak Lane.
Body
WHEREAS, traffic control signals are valuable devices for the orderly control and flow of vehicular traffic; and,
WHEREAS, the absence of specific signals at the intersections of high volume traffic have a profound influence on the number of accidents occurring; and,
WHEREAS, the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Barton Avenue/Lakewood Drive is a heavily traveled intersection, especially with the relocation of Winn Dixie void of protective arrow signals for vehicles entering and exiting Barton Avenue and Lakewood Drive; and,
WHEREAS, the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Queenie Drive (Monsanto Plant)/Oak Lane is a very heavily traveled intersection void of protective arrow signals for vehicles entering and exiting the Monsanto Plant and Oak Lane; and,
WHEREAS, due to hazardous conditions that frequently occur at these two intersections, making them identical to the traffic management at the intersection of U.S. Highway 90 and Paul Maillard/Magnolia Ridge Road would be beneficial to citizens of our Parish.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST.
