The Parish of St. Charles

IN   MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS,                     on March 11, 2025, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of His most worthy servants, William Jewell Sirmon, Jr; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     William Sirmon was born in Abbeville, LA and was a resident of St. Charles Parish since 1956.  He was dedicated to his family, his loving wife Edith Hanisee Sirmon, and his three children William, III, Quin, and KC.  He is the son of William, Sr. and Dorothy Sirmon; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     William Sirmon served as Councilman, District VII of St. Charles Parish for 4 years, served in the St. Charles Parish School System for 15 years, was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 9933, and served as a Member of the Lafourche Basin Levee District; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     William Sirmon worked in the Petrochemical industry, and has served on the Board of Directors of the St. Charles Business Association, Louisiana Architectural Board, Louisiana Professional Improvement Board for Teachers, and the Governor’s Task Force on Maritime Industry; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     William Sirmon will be deeply missed not only by his family, friends, and past co-workers, but also by the many residents of St. Charles Parish he assisted throughout his years of service; and,

 

WHEREAS,                     on behalf of all citizens of St. Charles Parish, the Parish Council and the Parish President wish to posthumously honor William Sirmon as an outstanding and dedicated Public Servant of the Parish of St. Charles.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 19th day of May, 2025, do hereby express our sincere sympathy to the family of

 

WILLIAM JEWELL SIRMON, JR.

FEBRUARY 1, 1943 - MARCH 11, 2025

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a page in the Official Minute Book of the St. Charles Parish Council be set aside to record this Memoriam and when this Meeting is adjourned, it shall be done in memory of WILLIAM JEWELL SIRMON, JR.
