Title

An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with G.E.C., Inc. to perform engineering services for the School Zone Improvements (Project No. P241101), in the amount not to exceed of $94,990.00.

Body

WHEREAS,                     Ordinance 24-12-3 adopted on December 2, 2024, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with G.E.C., Inc., to perform consulting work and services for the School Zone Traffic Study (Project No. P241101), in the not to exceed amount of $79,392.00; and,

WHEREAS,                     St. Charles Parish desires to bring school zones throughout the Parish into compliance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices; and,

WHEREAS,                     G.E.C., Inc., has recently completed a traffic study and produced a report containing recommendations for each school zone within the Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     St. Charles Parish and G.E.C., Inc., have mutually agreed to move forward with the recommendations provided in the report for the School Zone Improvements (Project No. P241101), in the not to exceed amount of $94,990.00; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Professional Services Agreement between St. Charles Parish and G.E.C., Inc., describes the details of the proposed services and compensation.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.                     That the Professional Services Agreement between St. Charles Parish and G.E.C., Inc., to perform engineering services as required by the Department of Public Works, for the School Zone Improvements (Project No. P241101), in the not to exceed amount of $94,990.00 is hereby approved and accepted.

SECTION II.                     That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement on behalf of St. Charles Parish.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

 

 

 

 

And the ordinance was declared adopted the ______ day of ____________, 2026, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
