Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING ENGINEERS for necessary Consulting Engineering Services associated with Parish Project No. P090303 Replace Natural Gas Engine at Destrehan I Pump Station.
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Charles Parish Council desires to have the following described project designed and constructed to wit:
Engineering services for Parish Project No. P090303 Replace Natural Gas Engine At Destrehan I Pump Station will include but will not be limited to serving as Owner's professional engineering representative for the Project, providing professional engineering consultation and advice, and furnishing customary civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control engineering services and construction engineering and inspection; and,
WHEREAS, three of the older pumps at the Destrehan I station are driven by Waukeshau natural gas engines that are approximately 40 years old. Spare parts are becoming increasingly hard to obtain and at times replacement parts have to be manufactured in a machine shop. A pump could be out of service for an extended period of time before a replacement part becomes available; and,
WHEREAS, this project will replace one of the gas engines either with a new natural gas engine or a diesel engine depending on which installation is more economical; and,
WHEREAS, the opinion of probable project budget is as follows:
Engineering Services $ 64,440
Construction $ 300,000
Other Project Cost $ 21,495
Advertising, Recordation, etc.
Land Acquisition, Right-of-Ways
Permits, Surveying
Soil Testing, Project Inspection
TOTAL PROJECT BUDGET $ 385,935
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the attached Professional Services Agreement between CIVIL & ENVIRONMENTAL CONSULTING ENGINEERS and the Parish of St. Charles is hereby approved.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles.
SECTION III. That the necessary funds for the total project budget in the amount of $385,935 be allocated to the above described project and appropriated from the ROADS AND DRAINAGE (112) Fund.
