IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Daniel Paul Ward is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Luling, Louisiana with his parents Paul and Caroline and his brother Justin; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel is a Member of Troop 371, chartered by the United Methodist Church in Luling; he started his Scouting career March 8, 2003; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel has spent the last six years as an active member of the Scouts spending this time preparing to become an EAGLE SCOUT; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel has earned his 26 required merit badges from a list of 137 badges and completed his Eagle Scout Service Project by researching the maintenance needed to be done on the fire hydrants in the Ashton Plantation Subdivision and on Gassen Street in Luling.  He found the hydrants needed to be made visible by cutting the grass, and gaskets needed to be checked, oiled, lubed, and flushed.  His project was accomplished on December 20, 2008; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel earned these 26 required badges by showing leadership ability as Quartermaster, Den Chief, Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Instructor, and Patrol Leader; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel rose to the rank of EAGLE SCOUT on March 4, 2009, and received his medal in a ceremony on September 12, 2009, at the Bible Center Church in Luling; and,
WHEREAS,      Daniel is a Junior and is home schooled by his mother Caroline, using the Abeka Program from Pensacola, Florida and will continue to grow as an EAGLE SCOUT by enrolling in college to pursue a possible career in Professional Fire Fighting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
DANIEL PAUL WARD
