Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 with for the Ormond CN Railway Culverts Project (Project No. P200801), to increase the contract amount by $1,005,921.76 and increase the contract time by sixty (60) days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 20-9-5 adopted on September 21, 2020, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of engineering services agreement with Barowka and Bonura Engineers & Consultants (BBEC), LLC for providing all necessary services for the Ormond Railroad Culverts Project (P200801), in the amount of $331,520.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 26-1-4 adopted on January 12, 2026, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with Barowka and Bonura Engineers & Consultants (BBEC), LLC, to perform engineering services for the Ormond CN Railway Culverts (Project No. P200801), in the not to exceed amount of $1,097,231.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 25-7-9 adopted on July 21, 2025, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Contract with BLD Services, LLC, for the Ormond CN Railway Culverts Project (Project No. P200801), in the amount of $10,542,425.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the construction contract for Ormond CN Railways Culverts Project (Project No. P200801), as major utility conflicts required additional work and work items; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish and BLD Services, LLC, have mutually agreed to increase the contract amount by $1,005,921.76 and increase the contract time by sixty (60) days.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Change Order No. 1 for the Ormond CN Railways Culverts Project (Project No. P200801), to increase the contract amount by $1,005,921.76 and increase the contract time by sixty (60) days is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this ______ day of ____________, 2026, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
