Title
A resolution to approve and authorize the execution of a contract with the Louisiana Division of Administration for the FY 2010 - 2011 Local Government Assistance Program for funding in the amount of $139,000.00 for the construction of an essential government building for the Department of Parks and Recreation.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish submitted an application for funding to construct an Equipment Storage Facility on Parish owned property at 274 Sugarland Parkway in Luling; and,
WHEREAS, on August 23, 2010, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 5767 in support of said application; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish was notified by way of a letter from the Governor dated October 7, 2010, that the Parish's application for the construction of an Equipment Storage Facility was approved for funding in the amount of $139,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the State has prepared an Agreement to provide funding for said project and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of an Agreement between the State of Louisiana Division of Administration and St. Charles Parish for the funding of the construction of the Equipment Storage Facility.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project.
