Title
A resolution authorizing the Parish President to seek funding from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality for the Luling Wastewater Oxidation Pond Treatment Upgrade and the Upgrade of (6) sewer pump stations and force mains in the Luling area.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles is in need of an upgrade of the Luling Wastewater Oxidation Pond because of the continuous problems with algae in the pond; and,
WHEREAS, the St. Charles, Ridge Road, Bosco, Monsanto, Monsanto Park, and Loupe Sewer Pump Stations all need upgrades to comply with the Louisiana Sanitary Code; and,
WHEREAS, loans and/or grants for this project may be available through the State Revolving Loan Fund program operated by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish to apply for said programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to submit a pre-application to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality on behalf of the Parish of St. Charles for the purpose of placing these projects on the Project Priority List for funding through the State Revolving Loan Fund Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is further authorized to furnish such additional information as may be reasonably requested in connection with the pre-application.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is hereby designated as the Official Project Representative for the Parish of St. Charles for any project that may result from the submission of the pre-application.
