Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 (Final) for the Magnolia Ridge Drainage Pump Station, for Project No. P080905-6C, grant reference Project No. HMGP#4080-089-0002, FEMA-4080-DR-LA, Project #3, Magnolia Ridge Drainage Pump Station Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, to decrease the amount by $70,905.36 and increase the contract time by seventy-five (75) days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 17-11-10, adopted November 27, 2017, by the St Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a contract with Sealevel Construction, Inc. Magnolia Ridge Pump Station, Project No. P080905-6C, grant reference Project No. HMGP#4080-089-0002, FEMA-4080-DR-LA, Project #3, Magnolia Ridge Drainage Pump Station Project, in the amount of $10,199,228.00; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 1 (Final) is a result of changes within the scope of the contract to modify quantities to accurately reflect the final balancing of the project line items for the construction amount, and to add a Lump sum amount of $8,200.00 for weld steel caps on the south and north wingwalls, and add a Lump sum amount of $12,900 for the addition of a pressure sensing system to monitor the operation of the pump syphon system; and,
WHEREAS, the decrease in contract amount by $70,905.36 is a result of a decrease in quantity for eight (8) bid line items, an increase in quantity for eleven (11) bid line items, the addition of two (2) bid line items and the deletion of three (3) bid line items; and,
WHEREAS, the increase in contract time by seventy-five (75) days is a result of 11 Work Change Directives adding fifty-five (55) days and the addition of twenty (20) days due to inclement weather throughout the project, impacting processing and drying time of the material to construct the levee and comply with Corp testing requirements, and construction time of the pump station.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Change Order No. 1 (Final) for the Magnolia Ridge Pump Station, Project No. P080905-6C, grant reference Project No. HMGP#4080-089-0002, FEMA-4080-DR-LA, Project #3, Magnolia Ridge Drainage Pump Station Project, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, to decrease the contract amount by $70,905.36 and increase the contract time of seventy-five (75) days is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
