Title
A resolution authorizing the Parish President to seek an outside Health Inspection Company to evaluate all Parish Buildings once a year for "Sick Building Syndrome", to include but not limited to monitoring of mold, primary indoor air qualities, display and record levels of carbon dioxide, temperature, relative humidity and gas levels, especially Radon levels.  Inspection of air deflection louvers, dampers and duct floors looking specifically for dry dust.
Body
WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish needs to protect the health and lives of all Parish Employees; and,
WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish is responsible for the well being of all citizens that visit the Parish Buildings; and,
WHEREAS,      The EPA estimates that 18% annual production lost is due to poor indoor air quality and 20% of all employees have major illnesses related to poor indoor air quality; and,
WHEREAS,      as buildings age they could develop a "Sick Building Syndrome"; and,
WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish at present has no standards governing indoor air quality; and,
WHEREAS,      the buildings of today are more energy efficient, but often limited to fresh air, compromising the indoor air quality due to man made products that off-gases.
IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THE SAFETY OF ALL EMPLOYEES, VISITORS AND CITIZENS WHILE WORKING OR VISITING PARISH BUILDINGS THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES:
      SECTION 1.      That monitors be placed at assigned locations for day to day monitoring of mold and to insure proper levels of gases, temperature and relative humidity but not limited to the above mentioned.
