Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 2 (Final) for the Sunset Screen Cleaner (Project No. P080905-11C), to decrease the contract amount by $192,662.65 and decrease the contract time by one hundred twenty-nine (129) days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 08-10-7 adopted on October 20, 2008, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Contract for Engineering Services with BURK-KLEINPETER, INC. for necessary professional engineering services associated with Parish Project No. P080905 St. Charles Parish West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee and Urban Flood Control; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6714 adopted on August 28, 2023, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the State of Louisiana through the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board and St. Charles Parish Government regarding the construction of the Crawford Canal Sunset Pump Station Bar Screen Expansion (BA-0270) project in Des Allemands, to provide $6,000,000.00 in funding for construction costs for said project; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 24-7-3 adopted on July 8, 2024, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Contract with Sealevel Construction, Inc., for Sunset Screen Cleaner, Project No. P080905-11C, CPRA Project No. BA-0270, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, in the amount of $12,594,880.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 25-7-10 adopted July 21, 2025, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Change Order No. 1 for the Sunset Screen Cleaner Project No. P080905-11C, CPRA Project No. BA-0270, Sunset Screen Cleaner, as part of the West Bank Hurricane Protection Levee Project, to increase contact amount by $168,945.00 and increase the contract time by twelve (12) calendar days; and,
WHEREAS, Change Order No. 2 (Final) is a result of changes within the scope of the contract to modify quantities to accurately reflect the final balancing of the project line items for the construction amount; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish and Sealevel Construction, Inc., have mutually agreed to decrease the contract amount by $192,662.65 and decrease the contract time by one hundred twenty-nine (129) days.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Change Order No. 2 (Final) for the Sunset Screen Cleaner (Project No. P080905-11C), to decrease the contract amount by $192,662.65 and decrease the contract time by one hundred twenty-nine (129) days is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
