Title
A resolution amending Resolution No. 4848, which officially established a confirmation questionnaire for nominees for all Boards or Commissions, to amend said confirmation questionnaire, to provide further clarification therein.
Body
WHEREAS, on May 17, 1982 a motion was made and seconded that the Council initiate the procedure of forwarding a questionnaire to all nominees for all Boards, requesting that the form be returned to the Council prior to the release of the Council Agenda; and,
WHEREAS, Rule 17. of the Council Rules for St. Charles Parish requires that confirmation questionnaires must be completed and returned to the Office of the Council Secretary by 4:00 o'clock p.m. on the fourth business day preceding a Parish Council Meeting; failure to complete or return the questionnaire prior to the deadline shall automatically disqualify the nomination; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4848 adopted October 9, 2000, officially established a confirmation questionnaire for nominees for all Boards or Commissions; and,
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5661 adopted August 3, 2009, amended Resolution No. 4848 which amended the confirmation questionnaire to clarify the answers of the nominee; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish Council uses the data contained in the confirmation questionnaire as a basis for determining the qualifications of the nominee; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to amend and clarify said confirmation questionnaire for nominees for all Boards or Commissions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby amend Resolution No. 4848, which officially established a confirmation questionnaire for nominees for all Boards or Commissions, to amend said confirmation questionnaire, to provide further clarification therein.
The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the resolution was declared adopted this day of , 2022, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
