Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of a contract with Hammill Construction, LLC, for the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation East Bank Trailhead Upgrade in the amount of $170,350.00.
Body
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received by St. Charles Parish on March 3, 2022, for East Bank Trailhead Upgrades; and,
WHEREAS, Murray Architects has reviewed the bids and recommends that the contract be awarded to the low bidder, Hammill Construction, in the amount of $170,350.00; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish plans to improve the overall experience for our residents when they visit and utilize the St. Rose Trailhead; and,
WHEREAS, this facility rests at the base of the Mississippi River trail where there are two ramps for easy access to and from the trail; and,
WHEREAS, these upgrades will encourage and enable our residents to partake in outdoor exercise to improve and promote a healthy lifestyle; and,
WHEREAS, these improvements will include updating the restroom building, and constructing a pavilion as well as updating the parking lot; and,
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve and authorize this contract.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the bid of Hammill Construction for the construction of the St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation East Bank Trailhead Upgrade is hereby approved and accepted in the amount of $170,350.00.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
SECTION III. A final notice of Contract shall be printed and filed in place of the contract documents with the St. Charles Parish Clerk of Court and in the records of the St. Charles Parish Council.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
