Title

A resolution of the St. Charles Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Sunset Drainage District, to repeal any and all Personnel Policies, Rules and Procedures, and By-laws which were adopted by the Sunset Drainage District Board of Commissioners prior to August 15, 2013, the date the St. Charles Parish Council was appointed and designated as the governing authority of the Sunset Drainage District.

Body

WHEREAS,                     the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Ordinance No. 13-8-5 on August 5, 2013 which appointed and designated the St. Charles Parish Council as the governing authority of the Sunset Drainage District and transferred all functions of said Board of Commissioners of the Sunset Drainage District to the St. Charles Parish Council effective August 15, 2013; and,

WHEREAS,                     said Ordinance required that all persons previously employed by the Sunset Drainage District were subject to Parish employment policies, rules and regulations as well as provisions of the Parish Charter, making the need for separate Personnel Policies, Rules and Procedures unnecessary; and,

WHEREAS,                     any actions taken by the St. Charles Parish Council, acting as the governing authority of the Sunset Drainage District, must comply with the Laws of the State of Louisiana, including the Open Meetings Law, the St. Charles Parish Home Rule Charter, and the St. Charles Parish Council Rules, making the need for separate By-laws of the Sunset Drainage District unnecessary.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, ACTING AS THE GOVERNING AUTHORITY OF SUNSET DRAINAGE DISTRICT, do hereby repeal any and all Personnel Policies, Rules and Procedures, and By-laws which were adopted by the Sunset Drainage District Board of Commissioners prior to August 15, 2013.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

 

 

 

 

And the resolution was declared adopted this                day of                       , 2016, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
