Title

A resolution in support of the Planning and Zoning Commission’s approval of 2022-17-SPU for an accessory dwelling unit in an R-1A zoning district, Lot 354, Fashion Plantation Estates Phase 3, 808 S. Fashion Boulevard, Hahnville, as requested by Shane McCully.

Body

WHEREAS,                     the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981 requires the Parish Council approve a supporting resolution for Accessory Dwelling Units; and,

WHEREAS,                     Shane McCully has requested a special permit for an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) in an R-1A zoning district, Lot 354, Fashion Plantation Estates Phase 3, 808 S. Fashion Boulevard, Hahnville; and,

WHEREAS,                     the St. Charles Parish Zoning Ordinance of 1981 requires the Parish Council to endorse waivers from zoning regulations for special permit uses; and,

WEHREAS,                     the ADU consists of 1,890 sq. ft., exceeding the 1,200 sq. ft. maximum permitted on Lot 354, Fashion Plantation Estates Phase 3, 808 S. Fashion Boulevard, Hahnville; and,

WHEREAS,                     Shane McCully requested a waiver from the requirement limiting ADUs to 50 percent of the floor area of the primary dwelling unit, not to exceed one thousand two hundred (1,200) square feet; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Planning and Zoning Commission approved the special permit with the requested waiver at its regular meeting on November 3, 2022.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ST CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL hereby provides this resolution in support of the Planning and Zoning Commission’s approval of a Special Permit Use for an accessory dwelling unit in an R-1A zoning district and endorsement of a waiver from the requirement limiting ADUs to 50 percent of the floor area of the primary dwelling unit, not to exceed one thousand two hundred (1,200) square feet, on Lot 354, Fashion Plantation Estates Phase 3, 808 S. Fashion Boulevard, Hahnville, as requested by Shane McCully.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
