IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Ariel Morris is the daughter of Steven and Billie Morris of Destrehan, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      Ariel is a 2010 graduate of Destrehan High School where she was an Honor Roll Student, Cheerleader, Cheerleading Captain, Student Council Senior Class Vice President, Kick Off Mentor, and a Talented Drama Student; and,
WHEREAS,      Ariel has taken 14 years of classical ballet and was chosen as the 2006 River Region Ballet's Clara from the Nutcracker; and,
WHEREAS,      Ariel's future plans include pursuing a degree in Mass Communications at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and she is currently employed by Rotolo's Pizzeria in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      Ariel was crowned Miss Queen IV in the 4th Annual Festival of Charities Pageant on April 11, 2010, at Ormond Plantation in Destrehan; and,
WHEREAS,      the Festival of Charities is a non-profit organization that started in October 2007, whose goal is to celebrate the lives of many special individuals in our Community and State by showing that beauty and care have no boundaries.  The organization benefits the Down Syndrome Association of Greater New Orleans, The ARC of St. Charles, and many other area charitable organizations; and,
WHEREAS,      as Miss Queen, Ariel will represent the Festival of Charities at local and parish events as well as travel the State of Louisiana to help raise awareness of the Organization's Mission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
