   IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Bishop Otis Kenner, II, a life-long resident of New Sarpy, Louisiana, lives with his wife of 12 years, Tyra, and has nine children and one grandchild; and,
WHEREAS,      Bishop Kenner is a native of Norco, Louisiana, born December 22, 1968 to Gloria Lee and the late Otis Kenner, Sr., was fathered by Martin Lee, Sr., who has been a great Dad and very inspirational in his life; and,
WHEREAS,      Bishop Kenner was baptized on August 28, 1983 by Reverend Fred T. Porter at St. Matthew Baptist Church in New Sarpy where he joined the choir and later became the drummer for seven years.  He then became the drummer for the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for an additional seven years; and,
WHEREAS,      Bishop Kenner, a 1987 graduate of Destrehan High School, heard the voice of God call him to preach the gospel in 1991, and was licensed in 1992 by Reverend Frantz C. Dunn, III; and,
WHEREAS,      Bishop Kenner was Ordained as a Minister in 1995 and in the fall of 1996 was asked by his Dad to start a bible study for the family, which grew beyond the family; thus creating the Faith, Praise & Deliverance Temple; and,
WHEREAS,      In 1998, Bishop Kenner was Consecrated as Bishop and the co-founder of Inter Faith Assemblies Worldwide; 1999 he attended the Joint College of African American Pentecostal Bishops in Cleveland, Ohio where he received a Label 1 Diploma.  He also received a diploma from the Experiencing God, Christian Growth Study Plan; and,
WHEREAS,      Bishop Kenner presently is the First Vice-President of the Kingdom Growth Fellowship of United Churches, a Member of the Board of Directors for the St. Charles Community Health Center, and the full-time Pastor of Faith, Praise & Deliverance Temple Ministries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
