TRIBUTE

 

District IV, Councilman William Billy Woodruff is a native of Luling, residing in Des Allemands.  He is married to Nelda Stidham and they are the proud parents of five children; Lance, Reese, Phillip, Brent, and Kandi, and five grandchildren; Laney and Barrett Woodruff, Brent Somme’, Jr., Briann and Braden Matherne.

 

Councilman Woodruff is a graduate of Hahnville High School.  He retired as an employee of St. Charles Parish in September of 2012 where he worked two years with the Department of Wastewater and 25 years with the Department of Public Works.  He was named the Parish’s outstanding employee in 2012.

 

Councilman Woodruff was first elected to the St. Charles Parish Council to fill an unexpired term as the District II Councilman in a special election held May 4, 2013.  He later resigned this position after relocating to District IV.  In 2015 he was elected to the St. Charles Parish Council as the District IV Councilman.

 

Councilman Woodruff is a member of the Operations, Maintenance, and Construction Management Committee, the Legislative Committee, the Special Projects/Public Safety, Health and Environmental Committee, the Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee, and the Hurricane Protection Projects Committee.

 

Councilman Woodruff is the Ex-Officio member of the Planning & Zoning Commission, the Ex-Officio member of The ARC of St Charles Board of Directors, is a member of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Advisory Council, and a member of the Sunset Drainage District Board of Directors.

 

Councilman Woodruff is a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and the National Association of County Officials.
