IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, on December 26, 2025, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, saw fit to call from amongst us one of His most worthy servants, Jacob M. Dufrene, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob was born to parents Lawrence “L.J.” Dufrene, Jr. and Marie Sally Dufrene and was a resident of St. Charles Parish. He was devoted to his family, his wife Dana Oncale Bergeron Dufrene, devoted father of Jacob Dufrene, Jr., Luke Bergeron, Zachary Bergeron, and proud grandfather of two grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob began working for St. Charles Parish in July 2000 as an Electrician with Wastewater. He became Wastewater Maintenance Foreman in February 2013 and in January 2022 was promoted to Wastewater Operations Manager. He was employed with St. Charles Parish for over 25 years; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob was a member of the South Lafourche Bassmaster Club. To Jacob fishing was more than a pastime. Fishing was his passion as well as his special time with God; and,
WHEREAS, Jacob enjoyed college football, golfing, playing cards and cooking. He was all about making memories with his family and grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, on behalf of all citizens of St. Charles Parish, the Parish Council, and the Parish President we proudly posthumously honor Jacob Dufrene for his exceptional service to our parish and his legacy as a devoted and loving family man.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, duly assembled on this 16th day of March, 2026, do hereby express our sincere sympathy to the family of
JACOB M. DUFRENE, SR.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a page in the Official Minute Book of the St. Charles Parish Council be set aside to record this Memoriam and when this Meeting is adjourned, it shall be done in memory of JACOB M. DUFRENE, SR.
