   IN   RECOGNITION
 
WHEREAS,      Jai Eugene is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in St. Rose, Louisiana.  He is the son of Sharon Eugene Givens and Stephen Lewis; and,
WHEREAS,      Jai, a Senior at Destrehan High School will graduate in May 2006; and,
WHEREAS,      Jai is a talented athlete lettering four years in football, four years in track, and two years in basketball; and,
WHEREAS,      Jai, while lettering in track, was named First District Most Valuable Player in his Sophomore and Junior years, River Parish Most Valuable Player in his Sophomore and Junior years, and was named twice All-State in the 100 and 200 meters; and,
WHEREAS,      Jai displayed his talent as the quarterback for the Destrehan Fighting Wildcats. During his football career at Destrehan he was named First Team All-American, First All-District, All-Metro, and received an honorable mention in All-State.  Jai also was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on January 7, 2006.  Jai was one of approximately 78 High School football players chosen by a panel of Sportswriters, showcasing the best players in the United States in High School Football; and,
WHEREAS,      Jai has received scholarship offers from over 70 schools throughout the Nation; he has chosen to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan on a full Athletic Scholarship majoring in Physical Therapy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to

ALL-DISTRICT, AND ALL-METRO
