Title

An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of an Engineering Services Contract with Environmental Engineering Services, Inc. for the design of Parish Project No. S100902, Upgrade to Ashton Sewer Pump Station and Force Main.

Body

WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish will be sending additional flows to the Ashton Sewer Pump Station from the Priority Lift Station Project; and,

WHEREAS,      It has been determined that the Ashton Sewer Pump Station, which is more than adequate to handle flows per the original design, will need to be upgraded along with a new force main from the Ashton Pump Station to the I-310 Booster Pump Station to handle these additional flows and to prevent sanitary sewer overflows (SSO's) occurring downstream of the Aston Sewer Pump Station; and,

WHEREAS,      This project requires professional services for the design and construction administration for successful completions; and,

WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish desires to have Parish Project No. S100902, Upgrade to Ashton Sewer Pump Station and Force Main, completed; and,

WHEREAS,      it is important that St. Charles Parish proceed with this project in order to protect the health, safety, and well-being of its citizens.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.      That the Engineering Services Contract with Environmental Engineering Services, Inc. for the design of Parish Project No. S100902, Upgrade to Ashton Sewer Pump Station and Force Main is hereby approved.

SECTION II.      That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Engineering Services Contract on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
