Title

An ordinance approving and authorizing a Contract with Associated Pump & Supply Co., Inc. for the purchase and installation of a new bar screen and heavy-duty trash rake for the Destrehan I Pump Station in the amount of $972,520.00.

Body

WHEREAS,                     on April 26, 2006 purchasing bids were publicly opened for the purchase of heavy duty trash rakes for the Willowdale, Destrehan I, and Destrehan II Pumping Stations; and,

WHEREAS,                     during preparation to begin installation at the Destrehan I Pumping Station it was discovered that the existing bar screen had been irreparably damaged from manual cleaning; thereby rendered a heavy-duty trash rake inoperable; and,

WHEREAS,                     due to this damage the heavy-duty trash rake was not installed at the Destrehan I Pumping Station and bids were sought for the purchase and installation of a replacement bar screen and heavy duty trash rake; and,

WHEREAS,                     on September 29, 2006 purchasing bids were publicly opened and Associated Pump & Supply Co., Inc was the low bidder in the amount of $972,5200.00.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     SECTION I.                     That the Contract with Associated Pump & Supply Co., Inc. for the purchase and installation of a new bar screen and heavy duty trash rake for the Destrehan I Pump Station in the amount of $972,520.00 is hereby approved.

                     SECTION II.                     That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Contract.
