The Parish of St. Charles

IN   RECOGNITION

WHEREAS,                     Mr. Donnie White, is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Paradis, Louisiana with his wife of 45 years, Carol Lewis White.  They are the proud parents of four children and proud grandparents of 12 grandchildren; and,

WHEREAS,                     upon retiring from Occidental Chemical Corporation over 17 years ago, Mr. White became even more involved with his community; and,

WHEREAS,                     Mr. White served as the Constable for District IV for 12 years.  He volunteers with St. Charles Social Concerns and is an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.); and,

WHEREAS,                     in 2021, Mr. White was recognized by the St. Charles Parish Rotary Club as their Citizen of the Year, which is given to someone who exemplifies the club’s motto of “Service Above Self”; and,

WHEREAS,                     Mr. White is a long time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis, where he is a volunteer alter server and Eucharistic Minister; and,

WHEREAS,                     Mr. White has assisted for over a decade with the organizing and distribution of food assistance through the Second Harvest Food Bank.  Once a month in the parking lot of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the food bank provides boxes of food to income-eligible families in the parish experiencing a food crisis; and,

WHEREAS,                     Mr. White is a dedicated member of his community and relentless in his efforts to give back what his community has given him.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby express our sincere thanks and appreciation to

FOR HIS CONTINUED DEDICATION AND SERVICE TO ST. CHARLES PARISH
