Title
A resolution requesting the assistance and support of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the priority construction projects of St. Charles Parish.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish Council firmly believes the following listed issues are priority projects which will benefit all of the citizens of St. Charles Parish:
I. Extend Entrance Ramp for Eastbound U.S. 90 Traffic entering I-310, Boutte
II. Widen LA 50 - Almedia Road, St. Rose
III. Construct Center Turn Lane LA 48
IV. Lift on/off Access Ramps of I-310 onto Airline Highway & I-310 to avoid flooding
V. Construct East West Road (East Bank St. Charles Parish)
VI. Relocation of LA 3060 - Barton Avenue
VII. Straighten Curve LA 628, Montz
VIII. Reslope Railroad Crossing ICG and CC Road (LA 628), Montz
IX. Norco North South Road to an I-10 interchange (Parallel Spillway East Guide Levee)
X. Conduct Study of U.S. 90/LA 52 Paul Maillard Intersection
XI. Install Street Lighting on U.S. 90
XII. Extension of Earhart Expressway to I-310
XIII. Center Turn Lanes U.S. 90 in Paradis and Des Allemands
XIV. Center Turn Lanes LA 18 from I-310 East to
Sugar House Road in Luling
XV. Highway 631 Guardrail at Graveyard
XVI. LA 48 Jefferson Parish Line to Ormond Boulevard Improvements
XVII. LA 3160 Junction of LA 3127 to LA 18 Improvements
XVIII. LA 632 Main Canal Bridge - Replacement is needed - urge
acceleration of Funding
WHEREAS, the Parish Council is requesting that the Department of Transportation and Development work with St. Charles Parish in accomplishing these projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the assistance and support of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development in the priority construction projects of St. Charles Parish.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution and attached correspondence be distributed to Governor Foster and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Glenn B. Ansardi, and Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr.
