IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Martina Musmeci Salles, MPH, RDN, LDN, FAND is a resident of St. Charles Parish, residing in Destrehan, Louisiana, with her husband Michael Edward Salles; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Salles received an Associates of Science Degree from Delgado Community College, a Bachelor of Science Degree with a concentration in Health Sciences with emphasis in Advanced Clinical Practice from Nicholls State University, she completed her Dietetic Internship at Tulane University School of Public Health, and received a Masters in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Salles is a Licensed and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. She is self-employed as a Consultant, Nutrition Expert, Interventionist Nutritionist, Diabetes Prevention Program Lifestyle Coach, Health Educator, Health Coach, and Sports Dietitian/Nutritionist. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, a member of Delta Omega National Honorary Society in Public Health and an Emeritus member of Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine Alumni Board; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Salles is a Public Servant and has served as a board member on the Louisiana Board of Examiners in Dietetics and Nutrition Board since 2013. She was nominated by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture & Forestry and currently serving as chair for her eighth time; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Salles was named Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by Louisiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, RD Spotlight Member with Dietitians in Integrated and Functional Medicine, Outstanding Alumni of the College of Nursing & Allied Health from Nicholls State University, Alumni Spotlight Member with Nicholls State University Alumni Federation, and Circle of Excellence Outstanding Alumni Award from Delgado Community College; and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Salles has been a member of several associations at a Local, State, and National Level. She has served on numerous boards in multiple capacities.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this recognition to
