Title

An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 (Final) for the St. Charles Parish Westbank Trailhead, Parish Project No. P180603, to increase the contract amount by $1,767.00 and increase contract time by 168 days.

Body

WHEREAS,                     Ordinance No. 18-6-3 adopted June 4, 2018, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement between Principal Engineering and St. Charles Parish for the design of a Trailhead later to be the St. Charles Parish Westbank Trailhead, Parish Project No. P180603; and,

WHEREAS,                     Ordinance No. 20-12-14 adopted December 21, 2020, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a contract with LA Contracting Enterprise, LLC. for the St. Charles Parish Westbank Trailhead, Parish Project No. P180603, with a bid in the amount of $406,228.00; and,

WHEREAS,                     it is necessary to increase the original contract to the final amount of $407,995.00 and add 168 contract days; and,

WHEREAS,                     the increase in contract price by $1,767.00 is a result of a sidewalk extension from 148 square yards to 167 square yards of concrete; and,

WHEREAS,                     the increase in contract days is a result of manufacturing/shipping delays due to Hurricane Ida and the Coronavirus Pandemic.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

                     SECTION I.                     That Change Order No. 1 (Final) for the St. Charles Parish Westbank Trailhead, Parish Project No. P180603, to increase the contract amount by $1,767.00 and increase contract time by 168 days is hereby approved and accepted.

                     SECTION II.                     That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order No. 1 (Final) on behalf of St. Charles Parish.

                     The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
