IN RECOGNITION
WHEREAS, Ashlyn Gabrielle Hymel is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in Montz, Louisiana with her parents John and Shellie Hymel and her siblings, Chelsey and Austin; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn is currently a Sophomore at Destrehan High School and after successfully graduating plans to attend college to study to become a Veterinarian; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn is an Honor Student with a 3.5 GPA, she is a Beta Club Member, winner of the Young Author's and Creative Communications Writing Contests, a member of the Desty Darlings Dance Team where she was chosen by the dance team directors to represent Destrehan High School in the National Dance Team Competition opening number at Disney World, Orlando, Florida; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn was Varsity Cheerleader Captain, Student Council Vice-President and Honorary Associate, Student Worker, and Student of the Month at St. Joan of Arc Catholic School in LaPlace; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn participates in the United Way of St. Charles 5K Bridge Run and American Cancer Society's Relay for Life; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn enjoys dancing, spending time with family and friends, shopping, and fishing with her dad; and,
WHEREAS, on Sunday, August 5, 2012, Ashlyn was crowned the 17th Teen Queen at the 54th Annual St. Charles Parish Festival Pageant held at Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Norco; and,
WHEREAS, Ashlyn describes herself as being compassionate, determined, and outgoing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
