RESOLUTION NO.                                                                 

Title

A resolution supporting the CDBG-MIT application to the Louisiana Watershed Initiative, Round 1 for funding of the Destrehan Pump Station 2 Improvements project.

Body

WHEREAS,                     the State of Louisiana received a $1.2 billion flood mitigation grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development establishing a line of credit in the Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funds for flood risk reduction priorities throughout Louisiana; and,

WHEREAS,                     St. Charles Parish is a political body duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of Louisiana and is eligible to apply for CDBG-MIT funds and to execute the proposed CDBG-MIT program; and,

WHEREAS,                     Ormond Oaks Subdivision and vicinity, located in Destrehan, Louisiana on the East Bank of St. Charles Parish has been adversely affected by damages from flood waters; and,

WHEREAS,                     St. Charles Parish desires to apply for Louisiana Watershed Initiative Round 1 funding to improve the function of the Destrehan Pump Station 2 (Dunleith Pump Station) by increasing the sump storage capacity and efficiency of the pump station.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and support the application to Louisiana Watershed Initiative for the funding of the Destrehan Pump Station 2 Improvements project.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said application and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project and subsequent grant award.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote; the vote thereon was as follows:

 

 

 

 

And the resolution was declared adopted this             day of                      , 2021, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
