Title
A resolution to approve and authorize the execution of an Agreement between the State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and St. Charles Parish for funding of the St. Charles Parish Safe Routes to School Program, State Project No. 737-45-0001, Federal Aid Project No. SRS-4509(501).
Body
WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish submitted an application as sponsor for Safe Routes to School Program funding on behalf of Norco Elementary School K-3, Norco Elementary School 4-6, and Sacred Heart of Jesus School for the construction of a sidewalk along Fifth Street in Norco, sidewalk construction and repairs on the schools' grounds, crosswalks, signage, and other non-infrastructure items; and,
WHEREAS,      on February 2, 2009, the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Resolution No. 5616 in support of the project; and,
WHEREAS,      by way of a letter dated April, 30, 2009, from Ms. Shalanda Cole, MBA, Safe Routes to School Program Coordinator, Department of Transportation and Development, advised that the St. Charles Parish Safe Routes to School Program application was selected for funding; and,
WHEREAS,      the State has prepared an Agreement to provide funding for said project and it is the desire of the Parish Council to approve said Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of an Agreement between the State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and St. Charles Parish for funding of the St. Charles Parish Safe Routes to School Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this project.
