Title
An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of a twelve (12) month Lease Contract Renewal between Satellite Shelters (LESSOR) and St. Charles Parish Public Works (LESSEE) for Contract number RO319076. The lease of a fifty foot (50’) by fifty-six foot (56’) modular building used as the office at the West Bank Public Works Yard, 166 Scorpio Ln, Hahnville, LA 70057. Public Works is seeking to have a permanent structure constructed that would allow for our staff to safely stay during storm events, and this renewal is necessary in the interim.
Body
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Public Works entered into a sixty (60) monthly Lease Contract with LESSOR in February, 2011 for the fifty foot (50’) by fifty-six foot (56’) modular building used as the office at the West Bank Public Works Yard, 166 Scorpio Ln, Hahnville, LA 70057. The Lease terms were for seventeen hundred twenty five dollars ($1,725.00) monthly and included twenty thousand and seven dollars in installation and delivery charges ($20,007.00); and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Public Works allowed the lease to renew on a month-to-month term for a monthly charge of seventeen hundred twenty five dollars ($1,725.00) from February 2016 until December 2016 per the Lease Agreement while deciding on the best course of action moving forward and negotiating a reduction in monthly costs lease term; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Public Works renewed the Lease for sixteen hundred fifty dollars ($1,650.00) monthly for term of nineteen (19) months in December 2016 (beginning December 2016 and ending June 2018); and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Public Works renewed the Lease for twelve (12) months, beginning July 2018 and ending June 2019 for a charge of sixteen hundred fifty dollars ($1,650.00) monthly; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish Public Works desires to have a permanent building constructed, a lease renewal for twelve (12) months, beginning, June 1, 2019 and ending May 31, 2020 for a charge of sixteen hundred fifty dollars ($1,650.00) monthly is required in the interim.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That the Renewal for the Lease Numbered RO319076 between St. Charles Parish and Satellite Shelters, Inc. is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Lease Contract Renewal on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
And the ordinance was declared adopted this day of , 2019, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
