Title

A resolution approving and authorizing the execution of an Entity/State Agreement between the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) and St. Charles Parish for the LA 52 (PH2): US 90 - Blueberry Hill State Project No. H.013495, Federal Aid Project No. H013495.

Body

WHEREAS,                     it is the desire of the St. Charles Parish and Administration to further the revitalization of LA 52 (Paul Maillard Rd.) in Luling by partnering with other agencies; and,

WHEREAS,                     a main goal of the Paul Maillard Road (LA 52) Corridor Revitalization Plan is to provide for a variety of safe transportation options (Transportation Goal 1, p12); and,

WHEREAS,                     Phase 1 of the project extending from Blueberry Hill to Angus Drive was completed in 2025; and,

WHEREAS,                     Phase 2 of the project to be undertaken under this agreement is to construct sidewalks, install a subsurface drainage system and to widen, mill, patch, and overlay the existing roadway in Boutte and Luling; and,

WHEREAS,                     the project is part of a Transportation Improvements Program (TIP), serving to implement the area-wide transportation plan held currently valid by appropriate local officials and the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and developed as required by Section 134 of Title 23, U.S.C.; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Entity/State Agreement appropriates Federal Funds to finance approximately 80% of the estimated project cost; with St. Charles Parish providing the 20% local share.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby approve and authorize the execution of an Entity/State Agreement between the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development and St. Charles Parish for the LA 52 (PH2): US 90 - Blueberry Hill State Project No. H.013495, Federal Aid Project No. H013495.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement and to act on behalf of St. Charles Parish in all matters pertaining to this agreement.

The foregoing resolution having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
