Title
An ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 91-5-16, as previously amended, to provide for the alphabetical split of Precinct 2-5, to consolidate Precinct's 2-7 and 2-8 into precinct 5-2; and the change of Polling Place for Precinct's 2-5, 2-5A, 3-1, 3-1A, 3-1B, 3-2, 3-5, 3-6, 5-4, 5-5, 6-1, 6-5 and 6-8.
Body
WHEREAS, in an effort to better serve the public on Election Day, the Parish has been in discussions with the Clerk of Court and the Registrar of Voters in regards to over crowded conditions at various polling places; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of these discussions it has been determined that various Precinct's should be moved to new locations to reduce the number of voters at one location and make voting more convenient for the Public; and,
WHEREAS, the owner of the polling place for Precinct 6-1 has notified the Parish that he longer wishes to allow the use of his property.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Ordinance No. 91-5-16 is hereby amended by creating an alphabetical split of Precinct 2-5 and changing its Polling Place to read as follows:
Precinct 2-5 is hereby amended to read:
Precinct 2-5, 2-5A
Polling Place:
Precinct 2-5 (A-K) Lakewood Elementary School, 501 East Heather Street, Luling
Precinct 2-5A (L-Z) Lakewood Elementary School, 501 East Heather Street, Luling
SECTION II. That Ordinance No. 91-5-16 is hereby amended by deleting the current descriptions and replacing them with the following:
Precinct 2-7, 2-8 and 5-2 are hereby consolidated and replaced with the following:
Precinct 5-2
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of I-310 and the centerline of the Mississippi River, thence northeasterly along the centerline of I-310 to its intersection with the centerline of US Hwy 626; thence southeasterly along the centerline of US Hwy 626 to its intersection with the centerline of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad; thence, southwesterly along the centerline of said railroad to its intersection with the centerline of an unnamed road on the eastern edge of the International Matex Tank Terminals; thence, southerly along the centerline of said unnamed road to its intersection with the centerline of the Mississippi River; thence, westerly along the centerline of the Mississippi River to its intersection with I-310, the point of beginning.

SECTION III. That Ordinance No. 91-5-16 is hereby amended by changing the following Polling Places:
