IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Mr. Elvin D. Ross is a native of Hahnville Louisiana, the son of Clarence and Frozine Francis; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross is married to the lovely Jasmine M. Ross, they have one daughter, Kai, and they currently reside in Riverdale, Georgia; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross graduated in 1987 from Hahnville High School and received an Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting in 1991 from Delgado Community College; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross realized that his love and passion was for music and his destiny was to become a composer/producer; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross won the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation Inc. Award in 1996 for his outstanding musical contribution to the New Orleans area; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross, toured Germany as a music director for the late Raymond Myles in 1997; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross has musically produced and scored seven Urban Theater Musical Stage Plays in four years; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross has musically produced and scored Tyler Perry's 1998-1999 - "I Know I Have Been Changed"; 2000 - "I Can Do Bad All By Myself"; 2001 - "Diary Of A Mad Black Woman"; 2001 - "Why Did I Get Married"; and 2002 - "Madea's Family Reunion"; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross has musically produced and scored Bishop T. D. Jakes' 1999-2000 - "Woman Thou Art Loosed"(The Theatrical Stage Play) and 2000-2001 - "Behind Closed Doors"; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross wrote four songs on the Stellar Award winning album Greater St. Stephen's Full Gospel Ministries, We Offer Christ, and one song on the Grammy nominated album The Full Gospel Fellowship Mass Choir, Experience the Fullness, featuring his wife; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross was honored to accompany a featured guest soloist on the Oprah Winfrey Show in April of 2001; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross was the 2001 NAACP Urban Theater Awards Nominee for "Best Musical Director" for Bishop T. D. Jakes' "Behind Closed Doors"; and,
WHEREAS,      Elvin D. Ross is the proud founder and CEO of the Ross Music Group (RMG).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
