Title
A resolution requesting the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development to install protected arrows at various locations on Airline Drive from Norco to St. Rose, in St. Charles Parish as listed below:
1) Protected arrow on Airline Drive west bound in Norco to protect southbound traffic turning on Apple Street.
2) Protected arrow on Airline Drive east bound turning onto Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.
3) Protected arrow turning west bound at Ormond Blvd. and LA 48 in Destrehan.
4) Protected arrow and green light in the turn lane of the west bound traffic of Airline Drive turning southbound on Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.

WHEREAS, Airline Drive, LA 48, and Apple Street are major thoroughfares in St. Charles Parish; and,
WHEREAS, these areas are heavily traveled with commuters back and forth to major industry and large subdivisions; and,
WHEREAS, installation of these traffic control devices would protect citizens traveling these areas and help to alleviate traffic backlog in this region; and,
WHEREAS, these changes are necessary to conform with the redesigned Department of Motor Vehicle, Third Party testing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby request the Louisiana Department of Transportation & Development to install protected arrows at various locations on Airline Drive from Norco to St. Rose, in St. Charles Parish as listed below:
1) Protected arrow on Airline Drive west bound in Norco to protect southbound traffic turning on Apple Street.
2) Protected arrow on Airline Drive east bound turning onto Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.
3) Protected arrow turning west bound at Ormond Blvd. and LA 48 in Destrehan.
4) Protected arrow and green light in the turn lane of the westbound traffic of Airline Drive turning southbound on Ormond Blvd. in Destrehan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to Governor Bobby Jindal, Department of Transportation & Development Secretary Mr. William Ankner, Senator Joel T. Chaisson, II, Representative Gary L. Smith, Jr., Representative Ernest D. Wooton, and District Administrator Michael Stack, Department of Transportation & Development.
