In Recognition: Hahnville High School Lady Tigers Division I Non-Select State Champions

WHEREAS, the Hahnville High School Lady Tigers Softball Team have excelled in the Division I Non-Select Softball Season, finishing the regular season with a 24-12 overall record; and,
WHEREAS, the Lady Tigers faced a tough road on their way to the Division I Non-Select Championship in Sulphur, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Lady Tigers defeated the No. 16 Central High 4-3 in the quarterfinals, then knocked off the No. 5 seed, St. Amant 6-4 in the semifinals; and,
WHEREAS, on May 3, 2026 the Lady Tigers defeated Live Oak 6-5 capturing their second-ever State Division I Non-Select Softball Title while also becoming the second girls' team in the history of Hahnville High School to win a State Championship in any sport; and,
WHEREAS, the Lady Tigers were the only team in any division who had to win 5 games in the playoffs to win a state title; and,
WHEREAS, members of the Parish Council and the Parish President wish to recognize the outstanding performance of the Hahnville High School Lady Tigers Softball Team and their Coaching Staff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY RECOGNIZE
