     IN   RECOGNITION

 

WHEREAS,                     Jenna Marie Orgeron resides in Luling, Louisiana in St. Charles Parish with her family, her two year old son Lil Al and finance Alphonse Richard IV.  The daughter of proud parents Rose and David Orgeron, two brothers David and Coby; and,

WHEREAS,                     Jenna graduated from Hahnville High School in 2005 and attended Our Lady of Holy Cross Catholic College in Algiers, Louisiana as a freshmen studying elementary education and business administration.  She has a growing ambition for success and plans to continue on a path she has set for herself.  She has high hopes of opening up her own daycare in St. Charles Parish one day.  She is currently employed at Cajun Ice on Highway 90 in St. Charles Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     Jenna was chosen and crowned the new 2007 Luling/Boutte Lions Club Ms. Queen I.  The LBLC Spring Festival Pageant was held on April 29, 2007, at R. J. Vial Elementary School in Paradis, Louisiana.  She competed with three other contestants binding for the title and was honored to have been crowned and given the opportunity to represent such a great organization, our very own Luling/Boutte Lions Club; and,

WHEREAS,                     The Spring Festival Queens pageant was held as part of the Luling/Boutte Lions Club Program to promote our organization and help out our youth in many areas.  The Lions Club is a group of wonderful dedicated people who support the Crippled Children Camp in Leesville, Louisiana where disabled children ranging from ages six to nineteen can attend and enjoy countless amounts of fun.  Other events that the Lions Club sponsors are bingo's held at the St. Charles Room in Boutte, Louisiana, where others come to support Luling/Boutte Lions which all profits go to the LA. Eye Foundation and the Crippled Children Camp.  “Roses are red, violets are blue, now I can see because of you,” is only one phrase we heard from a disabled child who received help, guidance, and support through our programs; and,

WHEREAS,                     As the 2007 LBLC Spring Festival Ms. Queen I, Jenna has traveled to several fairs and festivals representing our Lions Club and all we have to offer.  She will attend many more throughout the year as well as riding in our local parades.  As of June 2007, Jenna is an official Lions Club Member AKA Lion Jenna.  She is honored to travel around our beautiful State of Southeast Louisiana representing you, the people of St. Charles Parish, our Spring Festival Pageant, and fair which will be held September 9, 2007, and our Luling/Boutte Lions Club as a proud member, and as your 2007 LBLC Spring Festival Ms. Queen I.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
