Title
An ordinance approving the permanent acquisition of Lots 42, 44, and 46, Ranson Tract, Coteau de France, DesAllemands, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.
Body
WHEREAS,      St. Charles Parish has a canal levee and road on Lot 44, Ranson Tract, Coteau de France, DesAllemands, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS,      said canal, levee and road runs adjacent to Lots 42, 44, and 46 Ranson Tract, Coteau de France, St. Charles Parish, Louisiana as shown on the surveys attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked Exhibit "A", "B", and "C" respectively; and,
WHEREAS,      said Lots 42, 44, and 46 were adjudicated to St. Charles Parish for non-payment of taxes on June 2, 1990 from Howard J. Whitehill, et als, Howard Whitehill, Josephine J. Smith, H. W. Reed, R. H. Siegried, Arnold S. Bunte, D. Todd Briggs, Loise Donavon, Julian Glass, Jr., C. C. Harmon, Harvey A. Heller, Ethel Hughes, Eva Payne Glass, and Eva Payne Glass; and,
WHEREAS,      LSA-R.S. 33:2877 allows St. Charles Parish to acquire said lots in permanent ownership if there exist a public need for said property; and,
WHEREAS,      per letter of St. Charles Parish's Department of Public Works, attached hereto and made a part hereof and marked as Exhibit "D", Lots 42, 44, and 46 mentioned above are necessary for the proper operation and maintenance of the canal, levee and road which exist on Lot 44.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS: that a public purpose exist for the acquisition of Lots 42, 44, and 46, Ranson Tract, Coteau de France, DesAllemands, Louisiana, pursuant to LSA-R.S. 33:2877.  Be it further ordained that the St. Charles Parish President is hereby authorized to execute any and all documents and to take any and all steps necessary to make Lots 42, 44, and 46, Ranson Tract, Coteau de France, a permanent part of St. Charles Parish property.
