RESOLUTION NO.              

Title

A resolution requesting the Kansas City Southern Railroad to plan, design and supply a cost estimate to remove culverts and install a trestle under the railroad tracks at the East Guide Levee of the Spillway in Norco.

Body

WHEREAS,      all cost involving engineering plans to remove culverts and replace with a trestle be assimilated by the Kansas City Southern Railroad; and,

WHEREAS,      all actual expenses to complete the removal of current culverts and replace with a trestle outlined in Kansas City Southern Railroad engineered plans be assimilated by St. Charles Parish; and,

WHEREAS,      all plans must be approved by the Director of Public Works as stipulated in St. Charles Parish Code Section 20-4 (a) Construction and repair to streets, bridges or culverts; and,

WHEREAS,      the removal of the present culverts, which are in deplorable condition, and replaced with a trestle structure would allow the free flow of water alleviating back up water conditions in Norco.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby request the Kansas City Southern Railroad to plan, design and supply a cost estimate to remove culverts and install a trestle under the railroad tracks at the East Guide Levee of the Spillway.
