RESOLUTION NO.        5859      

Title

A resolution asking the Parish Legal Advisor to send a letter and a copy of this Resolution to the Legal Departments of all Railroad Companies that impact St. Charles Parish asking them in the future to notify the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Director/Communications Center and the St. Charles Parish Public Information Officer with a minimum of five (5) working days when Parish and/or State Roads will be closed for Railroad repairs.

Body

WHEREAS,      closing Parish and State Roads within St. Charles Parish without proper notification to businesses and residents causes a hardship; and,

WHEREAS,      closure of Parish and State Roads within St. Charles Parish without proper notification is a hinder to life, health, and property since emergency vehicles have no prior notification of these road closures; and,

WHEREAS,      road closures without proper notification to businesses could cause a loss of business and income.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL, do hereby support asking the Parish Legal Advisor to send a letter and a copy of this Resolution to the Legal Departments of all Railroad Companies that impact St. Charles Parish asking them in the future to notify the St. Charles Parish Emergency Operations Director/Communications Center and the St. Charles Parish Public Information Officer with a minimum of five (5) working days when Parish and/or State Roads will be closed for Railroad repairs.
