IN   RECOGNITION
WHEREAS,      Barbara Jacob-Tucker, married to Ned Tucker, has one daughter, Tara, and three granddaughters:  Madison, Sydney, and Destin; and,
WHEREAS,      Barbara has been the Secretary for the St. Charles Parish Council since 2001;
WHEREAS,      at the 2009 Annual Conference of the National Association of County Recorders, Elected Officials, and Clerks, held in Nashville, Tennessee, Barbara received Certification as a "Certified Public Official" (CPO) under the tier of Clerk to the Board, which only 11 hold that designation among the Organization's 600 Members Nationwide; and,
WHEREAS,      this recognition comes after six years of applying the knowledge gained from attending educational seminars, roundtable discussions and various other seminars and conference classes with her peers in such categories as, Leadership, Supervision, Media Relation, Records Management, Borrowing and Investments, Collective Bargaining, Constitutional and Legal Issues, Administrative Law, Liability and Security Issues in the Public Sector and Professional Ethics to name a few of the 17 categories of the 72 hours necessary to obtain management tier, 10 hours of attendance credits and 24 hours of training in this specified tie of "Clerk to the Board"; and,
WHEREAS,      Barbara has received three State Certifications since October of 2008:  Louisiana Certified Municipal Clerk (LCMC), received through the Louisiana Municipal Clerk Association; Certified Municipal Assistant (CMA), received through the Louisiana Association of Municipal Secretaries and Assistants; and Certified Administrative Assistant (CAA), received through the Louisiana Institute of Administrative Assistants.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby commend BARBARA JACOB-TUCKER for an outstanding job in receiving her National and State Certifications and her dedication and service to the Citizens of St. Charles Parish.
