Title
A resolution requesting payment of $1,000.00 from General Funds for Renewal Community (RC) Work to offset the start up expenses.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parishes of St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, St. James and Ascension have all been included in the start up expenses; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles wished to be a part of the Renewal Community application and signed paperwork has been submitted to the State of Louisiana; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles authorized the use all eligible census tracts in our jurisdiction for this application; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish of St. Charles recognizes the Renewal Community initiative approach to advancing economic prosperity in the Nation's poorest communities; and,
WHEREAS, Communities that receive Renewal Community designations will be able to use a revitalized business tax incentive package valued at $22 Billion Nationwide; and,
WHEREAS, Nationwide 40 rural and urban Renewal Community designation will be awarded. The designations will be made December 2001 and the designation period will run from January 2002 to December 2009.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL do hereby authorize the sum of $1,000.00 be paid from General Funds to the Renewal Community (RC) Work to offset start up expenses.
