IN   RECOGNITION

WHEREAS,                     Johnny Bourgeois is a resident of St. Charles Parish residing in St. Rose, Louisiana with his wife Ann and son Jeremy; and,

WHEREAS,                     Johnny has been with the St. Rose Volunteer Fire Department since 2005 as a paid firefighter; and,

WHEREAS,                     the last six years, Johnny has been the St. Rose Fire Department’s Instructor; teaching multiple classes, coaching, and counseling firefighters to bring out the best in them.  He has shown extraordinary dedication in his education to benefit his community and parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     Johnny has always helped his fellow firefighters with their education without hesitation.  His certifications through the Louisiana State University Firemen’s Training has benefited others; and,

WHEREAS,                     working towards his Fire Science degree, one of Johnny’s goals was to obtain Fire Service Instructor III certification; and,

WHEREAS,                     Johnny has become one of thirteen in the State of Louisiana to obtain his certification as a Fire Service Instructor III through the Alabama Fire College which is IFSAC and Proboard approved.  The Louisiana State University Fireman's Training also recognizes IFSAC and Proboard Certifications; and,

WHEREAS,                     a Fire Service Instructor III demonstrates the knowledge and ability to develop and administer a training program, develop recommendations to policies and modifications to policies, select instructional staff to develop instruction material, construct evaluation system and monitor performance of instructional staff, write requests for proposals to purchase equipment, conduct a task analysis for an agency and develop a curriculum based on that analysis, design programs and curricula, write course goals and objectives, and develop course and instructor evaluation tools.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, do hereby offer this tribute and recognition to
