Title
An ordinance approving and authorizing the execution of Change Order No. 1 for the Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), to increase the contract amount by $71,532.00 and increase the contract time by one hundred thirty-three (133) calendar days.
Body
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 22-1-5 adopted on January 24, 2022, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Professional Services Agreement with Meyer Engineers, Ltd. for Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), not to exceed $30,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 23-3-3 adopted on March 13, 2023, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Amendment No. 1 to Ordinance No. 22-1-5 which approved the Professional Services Agreement with Meyer Engineers, Ltd., to perform engineering services for the Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), increasing the overall not to exceed fee by $410,000.00, for a total contract value of $440,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 24-7-18 adopted on July 22, 2024, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of Amendment No. 2 to Ordinance No. 22-1-5, which approved the Professional Services Agreement with Meyer Engineers, Ltd., to perform engineering services for the Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), in the not to exceed amount of $110,000.00, for a total contract value of $550,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 24-9-9 adopted on September 23, 2024, by the St. Charles Parish Council, approved and authorized the execution of a Contract with NCMC, LLC for the Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), in the amount of $3,952,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Contract to account for unforeseen utility conflicts and piping/structural modifications that were determined upon draining the existing aeration basins; and,
WHEREAS, St. Charles Parish and NCMC, LLC, have mutually agreed to increase the contract amount by $71,532.00 and increase the contract time by one hundred thirty-three (133) calendar days.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Change Order No. 1 for the Destrehan Wastewater Treatment Plant Aeration Basin Rehabilitation (Project No. S211202), to increase the contract amount by $71,532.00 and increase the contract time by one hundred thirty-three (133) calendar days is hereby approved and accepted.
SECTION II. That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Change Order on behalf of St. Charles Parish.
The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:
