Proclamation: Regional Unity Week

P R O C L A M A T I O N
WHEREAS, The New Orleans Regional Christian Prayer and Worship Assembly is a Non-Denominational Group committed to bringing all Christians together in a spirit of unity; and,
WHEREAS, Clergy of all denominations are encouraged to dedicate several services to promoting religious, racial, and family unity during the week of June 15th; and,
WHEREAS, Political Leaders are urged to come together in harmony, putting aside political differences to discuss what we can all do differently to unify this region to allow it to prosper and flourish; and,
WHEREAS, Business Leaders are invited to ban together with the sole purpose of expanding economic horizons of our region and to create an atmosphere that would welcome outside investors and companies; and,
WHEREAS, The New Orleans Regional Christian Prayer and Worship Assembly is sponsoring "Call to Unity", a free admission family event on Friday, June 15, 2001, at 7:00 p.m. at the U.N.O. Arena featuring guest speaker, Mike Singletary, Hall of Fame Linebacker of the Chicago Bears.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL AND THE PARISH PRESIDENT, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE WEEK OF JUNE 15, 2001 AS
"REGIONAL UNITY WEEK"
IN ST. CHARLES PARISH IN HONOR AND RECOGNITION OF THE GOOD WORK DONE FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND REGION BY THE NEW ORLEANS REGIONAL CHRISTIAN PRAYER AND WORSHIP ASSEMBLY.
