Title
An ordinance of the Parish of St. Charles providing that the Code of Ordinances, Parish of St. Charles be amended by revising Chapter 15, Motor Vehicles & Traffic, providing that the Parish Council Chairman shall be authorized to approve the expenditure of surplus funds from fees levied for services rendered by Hahnville Field Office.
Body
WHEREAS, the Parish Council has levied a fee for each service or transaction carried out by the Office of Motor Vehicles, Hahnville Field Office; and,
WHEREAS, surplus money in the account shall be used to defray the costs to operate the Field Office; and,
WHEREAS, the Parish Council desires to establish a procedure for the expenditure of these surplus funds.
THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION I. That Section 15-21 shall be amended to read as follows:
(b) The money collected from this fee shall be used only to defray the cost of providing one (1) additional person in the Louisiana Motor Vehicle Office for the convenience of St. Charles Parish residents; surplus money in the account shall be used to defray the costs to operate the office. The Chairman of the Parish Council is hereby authorized and empowered to approve all expenditures of surplus funds and shall forward said authorization to the Office of Purchasing and Department of Finance respectively for acquisition and payment.
