ORDINANCE NO.                                                                 

Title

An ordinance to approve and authorize the execution of Amendment No. 1 to Ordinance No. 14-9-13 to extend the term of the Agreement, which approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between St. Charles Parish and Marsh Investment Corporation to develop a public boat launch along Hwy 90.

Body

WHEREAS,                     Louisiana is a sportsman’s paradise; and,

WHEREAS,                     the St. Charles Parish Council adopted the Parks and Recreation Master Plan which identified the need for increased public access to the waterways located on the west bank of St. Charles Parish; and,

WHEREAS,                     the potential for grant funding exists to finance the construction of a public boat launch for recreational purposes; and,

WHEREAS,                     the proposed development will add to the vibrancy of the quality of life enjoyed by the recreational boaters of St. Charles Parish and the region, increase available waterfront properties, enhance the Parish’s eastern gateway on Hwy 90, and be protected by a Federal levee system from flooding during time of tropical weather; and,

WHEREAS,                     on September 15, 2014 the St. Charles Parish Council adopted Ordinance No. 14-9-13 which approved a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement between St. Charles Parish and Marsh Investment Corporation to develop a public boat launch along Hwy. 90; and,

WHEREAS,                     the Parish President and Council desire to extend the term of the Agreement with Marsh Investment Corporation for an additional sixteen month period.

THE ST. CHARLES PARISH COUNCIL HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION I.                     That Amendment No. 1 to Ordinance No. 14-9-13 is hereby approved extending the term of said Agreement for an additional sixteen months for the period January 30, 2016 to May 30, 2017.

SECTION II.                     That the Parish President is hereby authorized to execute said Amendment No.1 on behalf of St. Charles Parish.

The foregoing ordinance having been submitted to a vote, the vote thereon was as follows:

 

 

 

 

And the ordinance was declared adopted this            day of                       , 2016, to become effective five (5) days after publication in the Official Journal.
